Red Barn B&B Goes Green

We've found some wonderful ways to go green to help protect our precious North Fork environment.

• Your breakfast menu is prepared with local, seasonal and organic ingredients such as free-range eggs from our neighbors’ farm and herbs from our own garden.
• Your sheets are laundered with environmentally safe detergents and dried on the line in outdoor sunshine.
• Our B&B is kept sparkling clean with all-natural home-care products.
• We encourage our guests to bring their own bicycles or use ours and we give a discount to guests who visit on public transportation.
• Approximately half of the electricity that we use comes from our 4,200-watt array of Solar Panels.
• One 80-watt Solar Panel recharges the storage batteries in the observatory so this building is entirely off the grid.
